ADMAT Speaks at the Tourism Conference

5th Annual Caribbean Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development, was held in St Kitts on the 9th - 12th September 2003. The theme for the conference was the protection of cultural heritage. This was a very successful conference with a large attendance. During the conference Simon addressed the delegates on the St Kitts Maritime Archaeological Project. A detailed presentation explained how the first phase, the survey of the White House Bay Wreck, was conducted as well as information on the next two exciting phases was given. Some of the artifacts rescued from the wreck were on display as well as a slide show of photographs taken during the field school.

This was followed by a site visit where divers and snorklers were able to look at the wreck site as well as the cannons.

Above, left and below, pictures of the divers getting their equipment, receiving a site briefing from Simon and heading off.
