The Containers Arrive and the Launching of the Pontoon Boats

With the support of the St. Christopher Heritage Society and  The Ministry of Tourism, Commerce & Consumer Affairs

When the advance team arrived on the island, we were kindly put up for the Friday night by Jackie Armony and Kate and Steve Orchard, for which we are grateful. On the Saturday morning we arrived on the base camp site to meet the arrival of the containers. The Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Dwyer Astaphan had arrived for the Port to be open especially to deliver the Geest containers and one Tropical Shipping container which was to be used as secure storage and dive centre. Our thanks go to The Port Authorities and the Ministry of Finance and Customs who cleared the containers in record time; Tropical Shipping Ltd and Delise Walwyn & Co Ltd and Bernie Greaux for arranging the transportation of the containers to the site.

Once the containers had arrived , Lt. Maloney, 2Lt. Lynn Wilkins and Sergeant Brian Mills arrived and kindly volunteered the muscle power of the St Christopher & Nevis Defence Force and Coastguard. This was much appreciated and with their help we unloaded the boats.

The first of the Geest Line containers arrives.  One is carefully positioned to act as a wind break. Time to unload. Toby's tent is the first up to act as an office...with a view over looking the bay.
Kate Orchard helps to rake a smooth surface for the tents. Steve Orchard puts together the Kawasaki generator. Lt Jason Maloney, 2Lt. Lynn Wilkins and Sergeant Brian Mills arrived to assist.

Mind the rocks.  Easy does it, mind the paint on the hull! Jason informs Simon that he is the Diving officer for the Coastguard and is invited by Simon to join the project.
