Christine
Nielsen, A Short Biography
Christine Nielsen is the Danish
co-founder of ADMAT, and ADMAT’s Vice President and Asst. Excavation
Director. She is also co-creator, Director and the Secretary for ADMAT USA,
as well as Vice-Président of ADMAT-France.
Christine initially studied terrestrial Near
Eastern Archaeology at the University of Copenhagen, but fell in love with
maritime archaeology after her first maritime archaeological fieldwork and
has not looked back since.
Christine has worked on land excavations in Panayia Ematoussa in Cypress, Tel Jezrel in Israel, and also taken part in the underwater excavation at Caeserea in Israel.
Christine is the ast. Excavation
director working on the Tile Wreck,
Carron Wreck, Faience Wreck and Le Casimir previously called the Perfume Wreck
in the Dominican Republic. Christine also was responsible for ADMAT's
St. Kitts Maritime Archaeological Project, where she was the Ast.
Excavation director on the White House Bay Wreck a 1740's
English Troop ship in St Kitts.
Christine was
also the Ast. Director on the Button Wreck. This is a possible
1770's wreck and is being surveyed for NOAA and FKNMS as part of ADMAT's Florida Maritime Archaeological
Project.

Carron Wreck, which may well have been a proto-type for
America's first Frigates in 1740's to 1760's.
