Tile Wreck 2010

Monte Cristi,  Dominican Republic Maritime Archaeological Project

From the 8th of June to the 23rd of July 2010 the team was in Monte Cristi for the latest project. The plan was simple to work on the French Tile Wreck, to continue documenting the artefacts already recovered and to examine a new wreck site.

Simple enough, but this time to add to the fun we had Anne-Corine Moraine and her crew from Thalassa a France 3 national French following our activities as we continued our work .

This year the team represented: Dominican Republic, England, France, China, USA and Canada. The weather held and apart from the usual set backs a lot of work was achieved and the project was a great success. The photograph above  shows this years team.

The team will continue at this and at new site in January 2011. Anyone interested in joining the project should contact Dr. Simon Spooner at simon@admat.org.uk

We have selected about 160 photographs to give you a taste of the project.
