ADMAT's St Kitts Maritime Archaeological Project 2003

Phase 1 White House Bay Wreck

Radio Interviews

As with all important shipwreck projects, the media were very interested in our work and the impact it would have for the island of St. Kitts and the Caribbean. There were three local radio interviews two with Winn FM 98.9. The first was during the second RECCE on the 26th September 2002, when Dr Simon Spooner, Mick Culling (banner photo above), Jeremy Schomberg and Andy Shrimpton were interviewed by well known radio host Tony Frederick, in respect of the up and coming project. Simon had met Tony on a land excavation of a sugar plantation with Bristol University in 2001. The second was during the project with Randolph Hamilton from the Ministry of Tourism and Jacqueline Armony from the St. Christophers Heritage society. The third was on the 26 July 2003 when Florence Prudhomme and Dr Simon Spooner were interviewed on the success of the project and the proposed plans for the next project. There was also coverage on the BBC World News.
