In 2003 ADMAT conducted the first ever maritime archaeological project in St Kitts. Whilst the project was simple, to uncover and document a historic shipwreck which was off the beach in White Horse Bay, the logistics were complex, sending 20 tones of equipment half way round the world.

The from the forensic analysis of the remaining hull and the small number of artefacts, the Team were able to date the shipwreck and identify the battle in which it took place. This was shown on HTV National news in the UK.

The news clip is a tribute to all who took part in this exciting project. This was the first maritime archaeological scientific project to occur in St Kitts and paved the way for many more across the Caribbean.
